Residential Construction Site Supervisor – New Bern & Newport

We are seeking a dependable Residential Construction Site Supervisor to oversee active home construction projects in New Bern and Newport, North Carolina. This is a hands-on field position for someone who understands how a house is built, can recognize construction issues, coordinate workers and subcontractors, and keep projects moving forward. The supervisor will visit both locations each weekday and will be reimbursed for mileage driven between job sites.

- Visit and supervise the New Bern and Newport construction sites each weekday
- Spend approximately three hours at each project site daily
- Monitor construction progress, workmanship, safety, and site conditions
- Confirm that work follows plans, specifications, and project expectations
- Identify construction problems and help determine practical solutions
- Coordinate daily activities with subcontractors, vendors, and project leadership
- Keep subcontractors on schedule and follow up on incomplete work
- Document progress with photographs, notes, and daily updates
- Verify that required materials are available when needed
- Report delays, defects, safety concerns, and unexpected conditions promptly
- Maintain organized and reasonably clean job sites
- Assist with inspections, punch-list items, and project closeout
- Travel between New Bern and Newport as required
What we're looking for
- General knowledge of residential construction from framing through completion
- Ability to understand framing components such as studs, joists, rafters, and load-bearing walls
- Ability to recognize workmanship problems and construction defects
- Previous residential construction, remodeling, maintenance, or site-supervision experience
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Dependable, organized, and comfortable working independently
- Clear and professional communication skills
- Ability to coordinate multiple subcontractors and priorities
- Valid driver’s license and reliable personal vehicle
- Ability to travel between New Bern and Newport every weekday
- Ability to use a smartphone to send photographs, messages, and progress reports
- Ability to walk active construction sites and safely navigate uneven surfaces
- General contractor’s license is not required
